California Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
for all 5th, 7th and 9th Grade Students:

The PE test is quite simple and involves the students participating in 6 different quick strength and flexibility activities, including a one-mile walk/run. You will work with your CT to complete the test in the Spring. However, your student(s) have the option of completing their one-mile run at a time To Be Announced at the Eureka High School track on Del Norte Street. Your student can also use a treadmill when completing their one-mile dash or run 22 laps around any little league baseball field (22 laps around the bases equals one-mile).

Your CT will have a copy of the PE testing form or you may download the form off the Alder Grove website. If your student participates in the Eureka High one-mile walk/run, please make sure they are wearing loose clothing that enables them to move.

Smarter Balanced / California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress
for ALL 3rd through 8th and 11th Grades:

April 24-April 28: Smarter Balanced (CAASPP) testing will take place from April 24 to April 28. Students in the 3rd to 8th, and 11th grades will be tested in math and language arts. Please contact your CT to schedule times in the morning and/or afternoon for your students to test during that week. Your CT can discuss with you the length of time necessary for each student to complete all sections of the test. There will be NO ONCAMPUS CLASSES this week.

May 1st and May 3rd: In addition, the California Science Test (CAST) pilot testing will happen on May 1 and May 3. All students in 5th, 8th, and 10th grade should schedule with their CTs for a morning or afternoon time slot. This is also a computer-based assessment, and should only take about 1-2 hours. On-campus classes will resume this week.

Students usually take the SAT the spring of their junior year and often repeat taking the test the fall of their senior year.
